Introduction
FoundersPath AI is a completely new paradigm for startup tooling. Instead of a cloud-based SaaS that holds your data hostage and charges you monthly, FoundersPath is a 100% Client-Side, Offline-First Single Page Application (SPA).
It combines 14+ essential frameworks (Lean Canvas, SWOT, Pitch Decks, PRD, Tech Stack) with powerful AI models running directly through your browser using your own API keys. It acts as a comprehensive "Operating System" for founders to validate, plan, and execute their startup ideas.
Offline & PWA
Because FoundersPath is built with a Service Worker, it operates fully offline.
- Installation: You can install FoundersPath as a native app on macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android directly from your browser's address bar.
- Data Storage: All your projects, text, and settings are stored locally on your device using IndexedDB. No data is ever sent to our servers.
- Zero Latency: Because there is no database round-trip, every tool loads instantly.
Setting up API Keys
To power the AI Chat and the "Auto-Generate" features across the tools, you must provide your own API key. We recommend OpenRouter for the best models (like Claude 3.5 Sonnet), or Gemini for a massive context window.
- Open the OS by clicking Launch OS on the homepage.
- Navigate to the Settings tab in the sidebar.
- Paste your API key into the corresponding field and click Save.
Your API key is heavily encrypted (AES-GCM) and stored locally in your browser. We never see it.
Data Privacy
Privacy is an architectural guarantee in FoundersPath. Because the application is a static SPA, there is no backend server receiving your project data.
When you use the AI features, your browser communicates directly with the provider (Google, OpenRouter, etc.). We do not proxy these requests, ensuring absolute privacy for your proprietary startup ideas.
Dashboard & Score
The Dashboard is the command center for your project. It calculates a dynamic Validation Score (0-100) based on how thoroughly you have answered the core validation questions.
It also provides quick-access widgets to all 14 modules, showing your completion progress for each one at a glance.
Validation Questions
Before you build, you must validate. This module contains 20 critical questions spanning four categories: Problem, Solution, Market, and Business Model.
The AI will use your answers in this module to contextualize all other generation tasks (like the Pitch Deck or PRD).
Lean Canvas
The Lean Canvas is a 1-page business plan template created by Ash Maurya that helps you deconstruct your idea into its key assumptions.
You can fill it out manually, or use the AI Auto-Fill button to have the AI populate all 9 blocks (Problem, Solution, Key Metrics, Cost Structure, etc.) based on your Validation answers.
Pitch Deck Generator
Create a 10-slide investor-ready pitch deck instantly. The AI will generate the content for each standard slide (Problem, Solution, Market Size, Traction, Team, etc.).
Once generated, you can edit the text and Export to PDF directly from your browser. The layout is automatically formatted for presentations.
Product Requirements (PRD)
A Product Requirements Document (PRD) bridges the gap between idea and engineering. Use this module to define your MVP features, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria.
The AI can generate a comprehensive PRD for you, breaking down your idea into actionable Epics and User Stories.
Roadmap
Plan your product's lifecycle. Organize your development into Now, Next, and Later columns to keep yourself and your team focused on what matters most.
Tech Stack
Document the technologies you will use to build your product. Categorize them into Frontend, Backend, Database, Infrastructure, and Third-Party APIs.
If you aren't technical, use the AI Auto-Suggest feature. The AI will recommend the best, most modern stack for your specific product needs.
Wireframes
Plan the layout of your key screens (Landing Page, Dashboard, Settings). The AI can generate structural ASCII wireframes and layout descriptions to give you a blueprint before you open Figma.
Database Schema
Design the data architecture for your application. Define Entities, Attributes, and Relationships. The AI can automatically generate a normalized schema based on your PRD.
API Planner
Outline your REST or GraphQL endpoints. Specify Methods (GET, POST), Routes, Payload structures, and Expected Responses to align your frontend and backend development.
AI Reports
Generate deep-dive analytical reports on your startup idea. Options include:
- Executive Summary: A high-level overview of the entire project.
- SWOT Analysis: Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats.
- PESTLE Analysis: Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Legal, and Environmental factors affecting your market.
- Risk & Mitigation: Identification of key risks and how to solve them.
User Personas
Define who you are building for. Create detailed profiles representing your target customers, including their demographics, pain points, goals, and behaviors.
Competitors
Track your direct and indirect competitors. Document their strengths, weaknesses, and pricing models to identify your unique competitive advantage (USP).
AI Chat Assistant
A context-aware chat interface. The AI Assistant has full access to your Validation answers, Lean Canvas, PRD, and other modules. You can brainstorm ideas, ask for marketing strategies, or request code snippets, and it will respond intelligently based on your startup's context.
Action Center
A built-in task manager. Track your next steps, assign priorities, and mark items as complete to ensure you maintain momentum.
Community Hub
The only online component of FoundersPath OS. Connect your Google account to vote on upcoming features, request new tools, and submit reviews for the platform.
